STUDENTS OF THE WEEK

Welcome and Wominjeka!

Grade Prep to Two artists were introduced to the idea that art can be found everywhere, not just in a gallery or a museum. They explored different shopping bags, including reproductions of famous artworks such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night, the readily available Woollies shopping bags and tote bags that show a message. With a permanent marker, our young artists designed and created a shopping bag of their own on a blank calico tote. These individual, amazing and creative shopping bags show who and what they love and will be a fun addition to any shopping expedition. Artists will bring these home to use, with their semester’s artworks inside them, at the end of Term Two.  It was such an engaging activity for our young artists, and I urge you to check out some of our Prep artists’ bags pinned up in the office area.
