Week 10 Newsletter Update

As we approach the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a highly productive and rewarding period for our school community.

Our students have demonstrated strong engagement in their learning, particularly throughout the NAPLAN period and across a wide range of classroom and specialist programs. It has been especially pleasing to observe the focus, persistence and resilience shown by our students, alongside the ongoing support provided by our staff and families.

We have also celebrated several important whole-school events, including our Harmony Day celebrations, which highlighted the diversity and inclusivity that make our school such a strong and connected community. These opportunities play a vital role in fostering a sense of belonging and respect among our students.

As the term concludes, I extend my sincere thanks to our staff for their professionalism and dedication, and to our families for their continued partnership and support.

We are delighted to formally welcome Miss Natasha Hauth, who joined 3B on Wednesday 25th March, working alongside Mrs Mitreski.

It has been fantastic to see how quickly students have connected with Miss Natasha, and we look forward to her continued contribution to the team.

School Improvement Works

The installation of our new synthetic grass areas has now been completed. It has been wonderful to see students actively using these spaces during recess and lunch, connecting with peers and enjoying the improved facilities.

Early pick up

To support smooth school operations, we kindly ask families to avoid collecting students during break times where possible:

  • Recess: 11:00am – 11:30am
  • Lunch: 1:40pm – 2:30pm

If collection during these times is necessary, please make prior arrangements to ensure students are ready at the office.

2027 Prep and student enrolments

Planning for our 2027 Prep intake begins in Term 2.

Families will be required to provide:

  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of age (birth certificate or passport)
  • Immunisation certificate

School tours will be conducted throughout Terms 2 and 3. Bookings are essential via the office (8080 5444).

Term Break Holidays

With the term break approaching, we encourage all families to prioritise road safety.

Children are particularly vulnerable in traffic environments, and we ask families to reinforce safe behaviours:

  • Use designated crossings when walking
  • Remain alert in car parks
  • Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts
  • Model safe and responsible behaviour
  • Wear helmets when riding bikes, scooters or skateboards

The Easter period is especially busy on our roads-please take extra care.  I want to wish our students a restful two weeks of holidays. I hope you enjoy some quality family time and do activities you enjoy doing.

Our school values remain central to everything we do. Please continue to show Respect, Be Responsible, Strive for Excellence and demonstrate genuine Care for others and the environment.

Thank you.
