Vermont Dads Group

(VDags)

Thankyou to those dads and father figures who came with their children to the Bingo Night last Friday. The numbers may have been small, but there were a lot of laughs and fun was hopefully had by everyone there! Keep a look out for the next VDags event.

TIPS FOR DADS AND FATHER FIGURES

(From The Fathering Project)

The weekly school routine can be tiring, no matter age our children are. The weekly routine can get very busy, and during this time our children may become irritable, there might be some tears, mood swings or even tantrums. It can be helpful to sometimes adjust our expectations, and work with our children to help them find a way to negotiate their busy week.

Things To Think About

1. Create a calm and relaxing space for them to chill out when they return home from school.

2. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Sleep is very important! Make sure they are getting ample sleep. You might need to adjust their bedtime to a little earlier than normal.

3. Show them unconditional love. Even when they are testing your patience. "I know it's been a very long day. I love you. Let's take a breath and start over."
