Mabo House Makes It Four in a Row!

Mabo House has once again proven its strength, teamwork, and spirit by taking out the House Championship for the fourth consecutive year!

This incredible achievement reflects the consistent dedication, participation, and enthusiasm shown by all Mabo students throughout the year — whether on the field, in the classroom, or during whole-school events.

From athletics and swimming carnivals to academic competitions and cultural celebrations, Mabo House members have continued to embody determination, respect, and unity.

A huge congratulations to all Mabo students and staff for keeping the streak alive — four years running and still going strong! Let’s keep the momentum rolling and aim for a fifth title next year!

Congratulations Year 12 students

As the year comes to an end, we want to give a special mention to our Year 12 students who are finishing their school journey. Some of you are deep in your final exams, while others have already stepped into the world of work, training, or future study pathways- and we couldn’t be prouder of each of you. Throughout your time at school, you’ve embodied the true spirit of Mabo House: teamwork, perseverance, and pride. Your leadership and positive attitude have set an incredible example for younger students, and your efforts have played a major role in helping Mabo secure the House Championship once again.

Leaving school is both an exciting and emotional milestone, and we hope you take with you all the friendships, memories, and lessons that have shaped your time here. Wherever your next steps lead- whether it’s university, work, travel, or something entirely new- remember that you will always be part of the Mabo family. Congratulations on all that you’ve achieved, and best of luck for the future ahead.

Remembrance Day- Tuesday 11 November

On Tuesday, 11 November, we pause to reflect and honour the courage and sacrifice of all those who have served and continue to serve in the armed forces. Remembrance Day is a time for our school community to come together in gratitude, remembering the men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. At 11 a.m., we will observe a minute of silence to pay our respects and acknowledge the enduring importance of peace, unity, and remembrance. Lest we forget.

Commencement- Monday 24 November

As we move toward the end of another successful year, we encourage all students to finish the school year well - continue putting in your best effort, support one another, and stay engaged in all remaining activities. A reminder that Commencement Day for 2026 classes will be held on Monday, 24 November, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for all students as they move into their next year level. Let’s finish strong and start the new year with energy, enthusiasm, and Mabo pride!

Year 7, 8, 9 End of Year Celebration Excursion

To celebrate the end of a fantastic year, Mabo House will enjoy an End-of-Year Activity Day on Monday, 8 December. Students will spend the morning at Bounce Trampolining, testing their energy and teamwork in a fun, active environment, before heading to Braeside Park for an afternoon of bike riding, games, and recreational activities. It’s a great way to unwind, celebrate our achievements, and finish the year together as a house. Make sure you bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and a positive attitude for a day full of movement and Mabo spirit!

Please see the House if you have any questions or need a printed copy of the permission slip.

2026 College and House Captains

We are proud to announce our 2026 College and House Captains! These students have been chosen for their leadership, dedication, and strong sense of school spirit. They will play an important role in representing the student body, supporting key events, and fostering a positive and inclusive culture across the college.

A special congratulations goes to our 2026 Mabo College and House Captains Truc and Zi Qing, who will continue to lead with enthusiasm, teamwork, and pride. As four-time House Champions, Mabo has built a legacy of excellence- and our new captains are ready to carry that tradition forward. We can’t wait to see their leadership in action as they inspire all Mabo students to give their best and keep our winning spirit alive.

Final weeks of the year

As we approach the final weeks of the school year, it’s important for all students to finish strong and stay focused. Take pride in the effort you’ve put in so far and continue to give your best in all upcoming assessments and class tasks. This is a great opportunity to show how much you’ve learned and to set yourself up for success in the year ahead. Remember to stay organised, ask for help when you need it, and support one another through the final stretch. Let’s finish the year on a high note and make Mabo proud!
