Hollows House
News
As we near the end of the year, Hollows House continues to shine through our students’ spirit, perseverance, and teamwork. Although we narrowly missed taking out the overall 2025 House Cup, coming in as runner-up once again, we couldn’t be prouder of our collective efforts. Congratulations to Mabo House for securing the title for the fourth consecutive year- by such a slim margin! The friendly rivalry between our two “powerhouses” continues to drive us all to do better, and Hollows will be ready to claim the crown in 2026!
I encourage all Hollows students to keep demonstrating our core values by earning Values Nominations, maintaining strong attendance, and representing both yourselves and our house with pride. Remember, if you are away, always bring a note from home so that your attendance records remain accurate.
A highlight of the term was undoubtedly the Valedictory Evening, which celebrated our graduating Class of 2025. Hollows House was proudly represented with the highest number of graduates across the four houses. It was an honour to present certificates and sashes to our Year 12 students on the night. A special thank you to Ms Ho for her outstanding efforts in coordinating such a memorable event. Congratulations also to the many Hollows students who received academic and subject awards- your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. We wish all our VCE students the very best as they complete their final exams- you continue to make us proud!
Recently, Learning Habits Reports were released, providing a valuable opportunity for reflection. Take the time to celebrate your successes, discuss your progress with teachers, and identify areas for improvement before final reports are released in December. Similarly, the recent round of ACER testing has shown fantastic growth in both reading and numeracy across our house. This data helps us as teachers to better understand how to support your learning, and it’s a great reminder of how far you’ve come. To keep improving, remember that regular reading at home can make a huge difference; build positive reading habits to strengthen your vocabulary and deepen your understanding of key concepts.
Looking ahead to Commencement and the start of the 2026 school year, please note that we will be moving to a 5-period day structure. Make sure you’re familiar with the new bell times and have discussed the new finish time of 3:10pm with your families, especially for those involved in school pickups.
Finally, best of luck to our Year 10 and 11 students as they prepare for exams. The Hollows House team is always here to support you, so if you have any questions or need guidance, please come and see us.
Let’s finish the year strong, Hollows! Continue to show the pride, effort, and spirit that make our house such a special part of Hampton Park Secondary College.
Go Hollows- wear blue, be true!
Warm regards, Hollows House Leadership Team
