Food Tech

This week students have rolled up their sleeves in Food Tech, getting hands-on in the kitchen while building their cooking skills.
The class started by making fresh pasta, learning how to mix and roll the dough before cutting it into fettuccine. The pasta was then used to create a classic fettuccine carbonara, giving students the chance to experience the full process from preparation through to the finished dish.
Students also baked banana bread, with Alex adding a special touch by topping his loaf with icing.
It was great to see students getting involved, building their confidence in the kitchen and enjoying the food they had made.
Year 10 boys have been hard at work in the kitchen, creating their own sustainable recipes.
As part of the task, students looked at how to make simple, practical choices around ingredients and reducing waste, then put that into action with their own dishes. It was great to see the different ideas come together, with each student adding their own twist.
Here are a few photos showing what they came up with.
