Principal's Message

Another busy fortnight has flown by at LESC.
The students and staff have continued the process of improvement.
Our Year 7 and Year 9 students have survived another NAPLAN testing window. I want to publicly express my thanks and gratitude to the students and staff who made this important assessment period as smooth as possible.
I explained to the students that we utilise NAPLAN to not only assess their abilities at this time, but that we also assess the school’s learning program in the process. The growth of students from Year 7 to Year 9 is a reasonable indicator of how effective our program is at the school.
The staff have been investigating their own practice inside the classroom, and we are looking to adjust some processes heading into Term 2.
There is an emphasis on how we encourage positive/expected behaviours as well as how we discourage problematic behaviour to create greater consistency and predictability across the college.
A calm and orderly environment is the goal for every secondary school, and it will remain a priority at LESC.
