L4 Homework Week 9 and 10
Congratulations Level 4 on a wonderful Semester One and Term 2. We cannot believe that we are halfway through our year. We wish all families and students a fun, safe, and relaxing holiday break, and look forward to seeing you all in Term 3.
Literacy:
This Week we have been finishing analysing and responding to the text "Always Was Always Will Be" by Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson. The students have been diving deep into the history of Australia from Indigenous Perspectives, and forming reflections about the text content from both a 'reader' and 'author's perspective.
In Week 10 we have been completing Naidoc Week based literacy tasks to show our respect, reconciliation, and understanding of the importance of Naidoc Week, and how we an build our knowledge of Naidoc Week.
In Spelling we have continued looking at the base word 'astro/aster' meaning star.
This word builder picture below is part of the homework this fortnight. How many words do you know and do you know the meaning too?
Numeracy:
In Math, our focus has been building on our problem solving skills when exploring worded and multi-step problems. Students have been applying algorithms, diagrams and mental strategies to solve a range of whole number operations.
We have enjoyed being able to apply our Place Value understanding this week towards engaging, investigation based tasks and enjoy numeracy games.
