Welcome Back!

Term 3 is always a great term with lots of fun events happening across the school! One of our early celebrations is acknowledging that our prep students have been at school for 100 days  - wowee!! I can't wait to see their dress ups and celebration of such a huge achievement next week.

Then we have excursions, incursions, Book Week, Book Fair, Fathers and Special others events and so much more! Keep your eye on the Compass calendar and for updates via Compass throughout the term.

Ongoing Reporting & Family Teacher Conversations this term

Have you been accessing your child's ongoing reporting learning tasks on Compass? We have many more items to come throughout this term and semester, so make sure you keep an eye out for their release.

In the Family-Teacher Conversation sessions later this term, teachers will be discussing these tasks with families, which will assist in demonstrating the progression your child is making along the Victorian Curriculum learning continuums.

Curriculum Day is coming!

Don't forget Wednesday 19th August is Curriculum Day. Students will not be required at school.

TeamKids will be available.

Swimming Lessons - Prep/1/2/3

This term students in years prep/1/2/3 are all participating in swimming lessons at a new venue - Paul Sadler Swimland, in Narre Warren South. This is a wonderful experience for all students involved. One of the most important lessons for students to learn is how to be safe around water. It is great to see the high number of participants this year, enabling them to get ready for the summer ahead (which will be here eventually!!)

The Colour Explosion Run is coming!!

In Term 3 you will hear more about our major fundraiser that we hold every two years. The event itself will be in Term 4 on Friday 13th November, however fundraising information will be provided throughout Term 3. Stay tuned!!

Kindness Campaign @ HPS

Did you know that Hillsmeade has officially kicked off a Kindess Campaign? We believe it is so important to help students learn exactly what our school values mean and we have started with Kindness. Classes will be completing a vareity of activities associated iwth kindness and there will be regular prizes on offer for students who demonstrate kindness across the school. We encourage families to also discuss kindness at home, especially around using kind words which does at times seem to be an area for improvement across the year level. We thank you for your support and look forward to a great term ahead as we navigate through our Kindness Campaign!

Another little break!

Just to let the community know I will be absent 30th July - 7th August and Paul Hill will be in the role of Acting Principal.
