Cert II VET Cookery/Hospitality

Our Certificate II VET Cookery/Hospitality students are required to complete a number of service periods as part of their assessments. Beginning Wednesday 22 July, our students have been busy honing their culinary skills and preparing meals every week. It's been wonderful to see our staff supporting the cohort as they showcase the skills they've been developing throughout the course.

Year 9 and 10 Debating

On Wednesday 29 July, students in the Year 9/10 debating team participated in Round 5 of their debating competition, hosted by Debating Association of Victoria.

The topic was ‘Dynamic pricing should be banned’, and both Year 9 teams were assigned to the affirmative side.

Lyndale Team 1 were thrilled with their win against Good News Lutheran College, debating the topic 'Dynamic pricing should be banned' (affirmative). Steve Robin was awarded Best Speaker.

Lyndale Team 2 debated the same topic (negative side) but were disappointed with a narrow loss against St Paul’s Anglican Grammar.

The Year 10 team debated the surprise topic 'That, in the age of AI, critical thinking skills are more important than ever' (affirmative), and their opponent was Chaffey Secondary College. They were thrilled with their win and received great feedback. Sanchay Parthiban was awarded Best Speaker.

Lyndale has had a fantastic season of debating this year.

2026 Victorian State Schools Spectacular - This Is Me

Our talented dancers, who are proudly representing Lyndale in the 2026 Victorian State Schools Spectacular – This Is Me, have been keeping busy with rehearsals and prop-making for the show!

It's been wonderful watching our students grow in confidence as they prepare for this opportunity, working alongside industry professionals and students from across the state ahead of the big show at John Cain Arena on Saturday 29 August (1pm and 6:30pm). We're so proud of the dedication and hard work they've shown throughout this journey!
