Senior School

As we reach the halfway point of Term 3, it has been another busy and productive period across the Senior School. With students now well into the second half of the academic year, there has been a strong focus on maintaining positive learning habits, preparing for upcoming assessment and examinations, and supporting students as they make important decisions about their future pathways.
It has been wonderful to see students continuing to demonstrate our college values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility through their learning, participation and contributions to the broader College community. We look forward to continuing to celebrate these achievements throughout the remainder of the term.
Attendance and Engagement
Attendance and punctuality have remained a strong focus across the Senior School and the College as a whole. It has been wonderful to see so many students arriving to class on time each day. This positive habit not only supports learning and engagement but also develops a valuable life skill that will serve students well beyond school.
Each week, we have proudly celebrated our E.P.I.C. award winners—students who have demonstrated excellent attendance by being present and engaged in every class, every period. Students and families are encouraged to continue looking out for the Student Bulletin each week to see who has been recognised as an E.P.I.C. winner. Students selected have the opportunity to spin the E.P.I.C. prize wheel, with a range of prizes up for grabs, including the highly sought after $10 Canteen Voucher!
It has also been fantastic to see students consistently demonstrating our College values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility, which are acknowledged through our Merit system. Students are awarded green Merits when they actively demonstrate these values, while inappropriate behaviours may result in orange Minors (-1 point) or red Majors (-2 points).
We would love to see even more students taking advantage of the Merit Shop, which is open every Friday at lunchtime in the Year 10 and 11 Senior School Coordination Office. Students are encouraged to work towards accumulating their Merit points and redeeming them for a range of rewards. Remember, Merits cannot be carried over into 2027, so make sure you get along to the Merit Shop and use your points while you can!
Year 12 - The Final Stretch
For our Year 12 students, Term 3 marks an important stage of their final year of secondary schooling. Students are now approaching the final weeks of their VCE coursework, making this a particularly important time to remain organised, focused and committed to their studies.
With students also working towards their final SACs across the second half of Term 3, we encourage students to be proactive, rather than reactive, in their preparation. Effective planning and establishing a consistent study routine now will help students balance their remaining coursework and SACs with preparation for their upcoming examinations. As part of this preparation, Unit 3 and 4 Practice Examinations will run from Wednesday 7 October to Wednesday 14 October, as outlined in the attached examination schedule. These practice examinations provide students with an important opportunity to consolidate their learning, experience examination conditions and identify areas requiring further revision ahead of the VCAA examinations.
Students are encouraged to make effective use of study periods, seek clarification from their teachers, engage with feedback and begin preparing well in advance rather than waiting until their examinations are approaching. While the end of Year 12 can feel like it is approaching quickly, there is still significant learning and preparation to be completed.
We also encourage all Year 12 students to continue prioritising their wellbeing alongside their studies, maintaining healthy routines and seeking support when needed. The Senior School team and teaching staff remain committed to supporting students through this important final stage of their schooling.
2027 Course Confirmation and Pathways
It has been a busy term for our Senior School team, with an important milestone reached last week as we completed the course confirmation process for all current Year 9–11 students who will be part of our Senior Sub school in 2027.
This process has involved many important conversations and decisions as students consider their individual strengths, interests, aspirations and future pathways. We would like to sincerely thank our students and families for being active collaborators throughout the process, engaging in conversations, asking questions and working with us to ensure students are making informed decisions about their 2027 programs.
We look forward to continuing to support our students as they transition into their 2027 pathways and begin preparing for the next stage of their secondary education.
Looking Ahead
With the second half of Term 3 now underway, there is plenty to look forward to across the Senior School and the wider College community. While students are encouraged to remain focused, organised and proactive in their approach to learning, there are also many exciting milestones and events on the horizon.
For our Year 11 students, preparations are underway for the Year 11 Formal, providing an opportunity for students to celebrate their time together and enjoy an evening with their peers. For our Year 12 students, the coming months will also bring a range of end of year celebrations and activities as they approach the conclusion of their secondary schooling.
We will also soon be announcing our 2027 College Captains, marking an exciting next step for our student leadership team and recognising the students who will take on important leadership roles across the College next year.
Alongside these key Senior School events, there are many other exciting activities, celebrations and opportunities taking place across the College throughout the remainder of the year. We encourage students and families to keep their eyes peeled for upcoming communications, dates and announcements so they can make the most of everything our college community has to offer.
As always, families are encouraged to regularly check Compass, Year Level communications and College correspondence for important information, upcoming dates and opportunities.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for your continued support and commitment. We look forward to a busy, exciting and successful remainder of Term 3.
