Bursaria
Upper Secondary Years
Dear Families,
My name is Colette, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Leading Teacher for the Bursaria Learning Place. It has been a pleasure stepping into this role and getting to know such a wonderful group of students and staff.
This term has been full of exciting learning across all of our senior pathways. Our VPC students have made excellent progress, particularly with the introduction of VPC Food Studies, where students have been helping to run the Kindness Café and developing real‑world customer‑service skills. Other VPC students continue to thrive in their SBAT in Warehousing, demonstrating growing confidence and independence in their vocational learning.
Our ASDAN students have now successfully completed their first unit, “Starting Out”, and will begin their next module next term, focusing on developing communication skills within the classroom and the wider community.
Students working within the Victorian Curriculum have continued to strengthen the key underpinning skills that will support their future senior‑school pathway options. These pathways will be discussed with family's next term.
We also enjoyed a number of engaging experiences this term, including Gymnastics at the Casey Gymnastics Centre as part of inter‑school sport, which will continue next term (with the specific sport to be confirmed). Students also participated in the Paper Planet incursion, contributing artwork to a whole‑school installation that celebrated creativity and collaboration.
We hope you all enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for a fantastic Term 3.
