Principal's Message

Dear Endeavour Hills Specialist School community members,
As we come to the end of Term 2, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a wonderful term of learning, growth and celebration at Endeavour Hills Specialist School.
Throughout the term, our students have participated in a wide range of engaging learning experiences and special events that have enriched their school journey. It has been particularly pleasing to see our students embracing new opportunities, developing their skills and building connections within our school and the wider community.
This term, we enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day, recognising and thanking the mothers, grandmothers, carers and significant women who play such an important role in our students' lives. We also acknowledged and celebrated Eid al-Adha, providing opportunities for students to learn about and appreciate the diversity of cultures and traditions within our school community.
Our Banksia students had a fantastic time participating in their gymnastics excursion, where they demonstrated enthusiasm, confidence and a willingness to challenge themselves while developing their physical skills in a fun and supportive environment.
I would also like to congratulate our Bursaria students who represented the school in Inter-School Sports competitions this term. Their sportsmanship, teamwork, determination and pride in representing Endeavour Hills Specialist School were commendable, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts and achievements.
Our Wattle students are enjoying their new purpose-built playground. Thank you to the allied health team and teachers who contributed their ideas and expertise that Adventure Playgrounds then brought to life.
Earlier this term, we farewelled Krissi Moore from our administration team as she commenced her well-earned retirement. Krissi has been a valued and dedicated member of the Endeavour Hills Specialist School community, providing exceptional support to staff, students and families. Her warmth, professionalism, knowledge and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on our school. While we miss seeing her friendly face in the office each day, we are grateful for her outstanding contribution to our school community and wish her every happiness, good health and enjoyment in retirement.
As we conclude Term 2, we also acknowledge several staff members who will be leaving Endeavour Hills Specialist School. We thank Shaye, Andrea and Sandra from our Banksia team, Michelle Bolivar, Leading Teacher, and Thomas Evans, Classroom Teacher and Learning Specialist, for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to our students and school community. Each has made a meaningful contribution to the lives of our students and the ongoing success of our school. We wish them all every success, happiness and fulfilment in the next chapter of their careers and personal journeys.
While farewells can be bittersweet, they also create opportunities for new beginnings. As we look ahead to Term 3, we are excited to welcome new staff members to our school community. We look forward to the skills, experiences and fresh perspectives they will bring as we continue to provide the very best learning environment and support for our students.
These experiences, alongside the many learning activities that take place in classrooms every day, contribute to the vibrant and inclusive culture that makes our school such a special place.
I would like to sincerely thank our dedicated staff for their ongoing commitment to supporting every student to achieve their personal best. Their passion, care and professionalism make a significant difference in the lives of our students each day.
Thank you also to our families and carers for your continued support and partnership. Working together helps us create the best possible outcomes for our students and strengthens our school community.
Over the holidays we will be installing new security fencing across the front of the school, from the bus bay to the end of the staff carpark. For families accessing Heath and Wattle, pedestrian access gates will be included. Staff will open these at 8.50am and 2.50pm to facilitate drop off and pick-ups.
As we head into the holiday break, I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. I wish all members of our school community a safe, happy and relaxing holiday period and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning in Term 3.
Warmly,
Karen Hunt
