Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

SHOWCASING PBL AT ST JOSEPH’S
At St Joseph’s, we are proud of the way our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program has become a living, breathing part of our school culture. Over the past few years, our staff, students, and community have worked together to create a framework that is not only embedded in our daily practice but also uniquely shaped to meet the needs of our learners.
In 2025, our commitment to PBL has drawn attention from schools across the region, who have come to visit St Joseph’s to see our approach in action. These visits are a chance for us to share the structures, strategies, and successes that have made our program so effective. Visitors have observed how our staff and students work together to ensure every PBL initiative is purposeful, engaging, and authentic to our students.
Our guests have been particularly interested in the way PBL is visible in every part of school life, from our reinforcement system and Dojo Points rewards to the way our shared values are embedded in classrooms, playgrounds, and assemblies. The combination of strong staff collaboration, authentic student voice, and clear behaviour expectations has created a safe, respectful, and thriving learning environment.
We are humbled by the positive feedback from our visitors and proud to know our work is inspiring other schools to strengthen their own PBL programs. These visits not only affirm the progress we have made but also give us fresh opportunities to reflect, refine, and continue to grow together as a community of learners.
