Our Breakfast Club continues to be a wonderful way to start the day. A nutritious and filling breakfast plays an important role in helping children concentrate, regulate their emotions and feel ready to learn. Whether it's at home or at Breakfast Club, starting the day with a healthy meal gives our students the energy they need to learn, play and thrive.

On Monday, during our Awards Ceremony, we will be reinforcing our school's Positive Behaviour Curriculum with our entire school community. At St Mary's School, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework provides a consistent, whole-school approach to teaching and promoting the behaviours we value. It ensures that students, staff, and families have a shared understanding of our school expectations and how these are demonstrated every day.

At the heart of our SWPBS framework are our five key expectations:

  • Care for Self
  • Care for Others
  • Care for Learning
  • Care for Environment

These expectations are explicitly taught, positively reinforced, and consistently modelled across all areas of school life. Our staff use a calm, consistent, brief, immediate, and respectful approach when acknowledging positive behaviour and responding to behaviours that require redirection. This consistency helps students feel safe, understand what is expected, and develop the skills needed to make positive choices.

By working together as a school community, we continue to build a culture where kindness, responsibility, respect, and a love of learning are celebrated. We thank our families for their ongoing partnership in supporting these important values both at school and home school and at home.

                                                                 BULLYING. NO WAY!

This term we are proudly recognising Bullying. No Way! Week, an important opportunity to talk with students about kindness, inclusion and the role we all play in creating a safe and supportive school community. We encourage our students to be upstanders by speaking up, showing empathy and helping others feel like they belong.

To continue supporting positive friendships and wellbeing, our Art Room is now open every lunchtime as an inside play space. Students can enjoy drawing, creating, games and quiet activities while connecting with others and making new friends. Providing a range of play options helps ensure every child has a place where they feel comfortable, included and valued.
