What a wonderful two weeks it has been here at St Mary's School Rushworth! Our students have embraced a wide range of learning opportunities, demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones.

One of the highlights is the continuation of our exciting Creative Performance Project. We are privileged to be working alongside an outstanding team of artists: Dan West from Cookin' on 3 BurnersCatherine Simmonds OAM, acclaimed Artistic Director, Yumi Umiumare, who brings over 20 years of experience inspiring creativity in children, and Jacqui Stockdale, a highly regarded Australian visual artist and graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts.

Together, these talented artists are guiding our students through a rich creative journey that celebrates their interests, experiences, and life stories. The project will culminate in our original school production, In Here, Out There, which will be performed for our wider community in October.

This unique opportunity is enabling students to flourish as confident and creative learners while developing skills in music and sound production, creative movement, storytelling, and visual arts. It has been wonderful to witness our students embracing new challenges with open minds, imagination, and enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of the confidence and creativity they are already displaying and look forward to seeing this remarkable production come to life.

Looking ahead, we are also excited to celebrate our students at our Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday. This special occasion recognises excellence across our specialist learning areas, while also acknowledging those students who consistently model our school values through the presentation of our Citizenship Awards.

These awards celebrate more than academic success, they recognise kindness, perseverance, responsibility, leadership, creativity, and the many strengths that make our students unique. It is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the diverse gifts and talents that exist within our school community and to celebrate the positive contributions our students make each day.

Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are creating a vibrant learning community where every child is encouraged to flourish, grow in confidence, and discover their God-given gifts.

Blessings,
