Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser

During this term, students at Plenty River College worked collaboratively over several weeks to prepare for the Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser held on Monday 25th May, raising money for the Cancer Council.
As part of their Personal Development Skills (PDS) learning, students completed authentic, real-world tasks including creating decorations, posters, invitations, and professional emails to local businesses requesting raffle prize donations. Throughout the project, students developed valuable skills in communication, teamwork, organisation, problem-solving, and community engagement.
On the day, students assisted with setting up, serving food and refreshments, welcoming guests, and coordinating raffle activities. We were pleased to welcome community partners and guests including Vinnies Mill Park, Whittlesea Tech School, Loving Miracles, members of the Plenty River College School Board, along with parents, carers, and family members.
We sincerely thank Bunnings Mill Park, Bunnings Mernda, Dusk Plenty Valley, Chemist Warehouse Epping, and Woolworths (through Sammy’s cousin) for their generous raffle donations and support.
Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our students, staff, families, and community supporters, the fundraiser raised an incredible $3,176.45 for the Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea appeal.
We are extremely proud of the leadership, teamwork, and dedication demonstrated by all students involved.
