Principal's Message

A new term and the beginning of the next chapter in the life of Kildare Ministries after celebrating our 10th anniversary conference in the last week of Term 1. The national conference, held across five Australian cities—Sydney, Brisbane, Geelong, Melbourne, and Adelaide, brought together over 1300 participants from 10 schools and 3 community works. The conference took place from March 25 to 27 and the theme, "Crossing New Seas - Encounter | Dream | Do," emphasised unity and a shared purpose, challenging attendees to expand their horizons and engage in a variety of inspiring activities that promoted reflection, vision, and action. The event not only celebrated the diversity within the Kildare Ministries community but also enhanced connection and collaboration among participants, both in person and online.

Year 7

I trust that our Year 7s have found a warm welcome at Marian College and are beginning to understand what it means to be part of a Catholic school inspired by the lives of St. Brigid of Kildare and Nano Nagle. We are dedicated emphasising our theme of hope this year to inspire our young women to envision a future where they can make a meaningful impact. By instilling hope, we encourage them to look beyond their immediate surroundings and consider how they can contribute to a better world.

This week, our Year 7 students set off on an extraordinary adventure at Campase Downs Adventure Park in Trentham. During their three-day, two-night stay, they tackled numerous challenges, overcame personal fears, and created lasting friendships that will continue far beyond these 3 days. The camp served as much more than just a fun escape; it acted as a ground for personal achievements. Many students exceeded their own expectations, from mastering the giant swing and taking the leap of faith to participating in teamwork exercises, every activity highlighted their determination and perseverance.

Feedback on Learning @ Marian College

We recently complete two rounds of Parent-Teacher- Student Conferences where parents could discuss their daughters learning progress. These interviews are pivotal for giving personalised feedback, addressing any academic or behavioural concerns, and setting goals for future development. They foster an essential partnership between parents and teachers, ensuring that both parties are aligned in their efforts to support the student. Through these interactions, parents or carers can gain a deeper understanding of their child's educational environment and teachers can receive valuable insights from parents, which can be integral to tailoring their instructional approaches to better meet the needs of each student.

Child Safety @ Marian College

At Marian College, we prioritise both academic excellence and the safety and wellbeing of every student under our care. We are dedicated to maintaining a nurturing and secure environment through the implementation of stringent child safety policies and procedures. The Executive Team is currently reviewing these policies to ensure they are as effective as possible. For more information on child safety at Marian College, parents and carers are encouraged to visit the Child Safety section under the 'College Policies & Publications' tab on our website.

Prayer for Peace and Hope

Lord, our God,

In a world that yearns for peace and harbors hope in every heart, We come before You to seek Your divine serenity and enduring light. Grant us the grace to embody peace in our thoughts, words, and deeds, And sustain us with hope as we navigate the challenges of life. May Your love guide us, and Your wisdom provide the path Where we walk together in harmony and strive for the good of all. Bless us with the strength to uphold peace and hope within our community, Reflecting Your profound mercy and boundless generosity. Through Christ our Lord.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

Amen.
