Year 9/10- Go Girls

GO GIRLS

Michelle Jobson, CEO of the Go Girl's Foundation, visited Marian College on the 6th March to talk to the Year 9 and 10 students about her work.

The Go Girls Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that raises awareness and advocates for women under trying circumstances, including:

• Women who are unemployed to gain employment

• Women who have experienced domestic violence to move towards independence

• Migrant women who have faced social isolation to engage in their community

• Women who have experienced homelessness to overcome their circumstances

Michelle visited the college to promote the Go Girl’s 100km challenge, with Marian College students set to complete the event in October 2024.

In short, students will, in a team of approx. 20, run a combined 100kms to raise awareness for women's health, domestic violence and other issues in the community.

The event itself, only open to students in either Year 9 or 10, is a fundraiser where all-girls schools from all across Victoria can come together to support and advocate for women who need support the most.
