F/1/2 CLASSROOM

As we come to the end of Term 2, it has been wonderful to reflect on the growth, learning, and achievements of all students across the semester. Our classroom has continued to be filled with enthusiasm, kindness, and students challenging themselves to try new things each day.
Over the past fortnight, students have continued working hard across all learning areas while also completing end-of-term assessments and check-ins. I have been incredibly proud of the effort, persistence, and positive attitude students have shown throughout this process. It has been wonderful to see students approaching challenges with confidence and demonstrating all of the learning they have developed across the term.
In Literacy, students have continued building confidence in reading and writing. Foundation students have continued growing as readers and writers and have loved sharing their readers at home with families. Across Years 1 and 2, students have continued developing their spelling, comprehension, grammar, and writing skills while applying new learning with increasing independence.
In Mathematics, students have continued developing their problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking through hands-on activities and investigations. Students have shown great persistence and confidence as they explored shape, measurement, addition and subtraction, and continued strengthening their understanding of number concepts.
Students have also continued their work with Melbourne artists through our Under the Creative Hood program. Across the sessions, students have been working collaboratively, contributing ideas and helping create a shared creative piece together. It has been wonderful to see students showing creativity, confidence, and teamwork while trying new experiences.
Throughout the term, students have continued to demonstrate our school expectations of Care for Self, Care for Others, Care for Learning, and Care for the Environment. I have been so proud of the kindness, encouragement, and support students continue to show one another each day and the positive classroom environment they have helped create.
As we head into our final week of term, students are also looking forward to celebrating together with our school fundraiser and the opportunity to slime the teachers! We know this will be a fun and exciting way to finish off a fantastic term together.
Thank you to all families for your ongoing support throughout Term 2. I hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and well-deserved break, and I look forward to another wonderful term ahead.
