International Student Program

Mid-Autumn Youth Festival

This year, our team celebrated Mid-Autumn festival together by sharing mooncakes with all international students and staff. This special festival, celebrated across East and Southeast Asia, marks the harvest season and is a time for family reunions, honouring the moon, and sharing festive foods.

To make this celebration even more meaningful, we also made playdough mooncakes and designed lanterns to mark the occasion. They symbolized the spirit of the festival—harmony, unity, and connection.

We hope to make all of our international students feel supported and a part of the wider school community. At the same time, we encourage everyone, regardless of background, to learn more about this rich cultural tradition and enjoy the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Global International Youth Forum 2024

The Global Youth Forum program is a virtual, three-session learning program for Year 9 - 10 students in Victorian schools. It connects students in Victoria with their peers across the Asia-Pacific to develop global citizenship, intercultural understanding, and leadership skills. The program involves exploring global citizenship concepts and addressing 21st century challenges, proposing solutions and activities aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. At the conclusion, students will present their projects and celebrate their learning journey alongside their peers from across the Asia-Pacific.

This was the first time for our school to participate in this program. Two international students Sasvadu and Ellie from Year 9 were selected to participate in this activity. They were extremely excited to be able to be part of such an event, not only to meet many students from other countries, learn about the challenges they are facing, and bring deep reflection, but also to lay a solid foundation for becoming student leaders later on. Their pleasant experience also motivated other students to participate in similar activities in the future. I hope that all international students can have this opportunity to shape a global perspective and then truly become international citizens.
