Winter Holiday Works – Investing in Our School

Dear Families,

While our students and staff enjoyed a well-deserved winter break, our school was anything but quiet! The holidays provided a fantastic opportunity to complete several exciting facility improvement projects that will continue to enhance our learning environment for years to come.

One of the first things our families will notice is the transformation of the garden beds at the front entrance to the school. These refreshed garden spaces have created a warm and welcoming first impression for everyone who visits. A special thank you goes to Ben and his team at Coneb Gardens for his vision, creativity and dedication in leading this project. His passion and commitment have made a significant difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and care invested in making our school look so inviting.

We have also completed the final stage of painting our main building. The fresh new paint has given the entire area a renewed sense of pride and vibrancy. It's amazing what a difference a fresh coat of paint can make, and the buildings now look brighter, more cared for and ready to support another exciting semester of learning.

Perhaps the most anticipated project has been the upgrade of our basketball courts. Two specialist contractors have been working hard to complete the court resurfacing and install brand new fencing around the area. The transformation has been outstanding, and we know our students are eagerly counting down the days until the courts officially reopen. We are pleased to say that the project is almost complete and today students had the first opportunity to test it out.

To celebrate our fantastic new facilities, we will be launching a 3 vs 3 Basketball Tournament later this term! Students in Grades 3 & 4 and Grades 5 & 6 will have the opportunity to create and name their own teams before competing in what promises to be a fun and exciting competition.

In keeping with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS) approach, success won't just be measured by the scoreboard. Teams will be able to earn valuable bonus ladder points by demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, encouragement, respect and teamwork throughout the tournament. We can't wait to see our students embracing healthy competition while living our school values.

These projects are another example of our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding facilities that our students can be proud of. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy these wonderful new spaces throughout the semester.

Warm regards,
