Pathways

From aviation to sports careers and paramedicine to entrepreneurship - it’s been a huge fortnight in pathways!
Today’s Careers and Pathways Wellbeing Lesson saw our Years 7–10 students explore the importance of giving and receiving feedback effectively — an essential communication skill for school, the workplace and future careers. Through engaging discussions and a practical workshop, students explored how to give feedback that is honest, kind and constructive, while building confidence in listening, responding positively and using feedback as an opportunity to learn and grow. Take a look at our spotlight featuring Grace and Aish from Year 8 Gilmore as they share their reflections on the lesson and the power of good feedback.
Earlier this week, Year 12 student Taylah joined students from across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese for an exclusive tour of Western Sydney International Airport, marking the culmination of the WSU Introduction to Aviation Operations Microcredential. We thank CSPD and Rasha Fitzsimons, Western Sydney University and Western Sydney International Airport for providing this valuable opportunity and supporting Taylah as she explores her aspirations for a future career in aviation.
College Captain Olivia recently connected with Sydney FC Digital Content Manager Robbie Szafranek to gain valuable insights into the fast-paced world of sports marketing, social media and digital content. Made possible through our partnership with SEDA, the conversation provided Olivia with practical advice and inspiration as she works towards her goal of a career in the sports industry.
Could your daughter see herself pursuing a career where every day is different and she can make a real difference? At our upcoming Lunch & Learn, students will hear from experienced paramedic - and CCC Mum! - Maggie, who will share her career journey and provide an authentic insight into life as a paramedic, including the skills, challenges and pathways into this rewarding profession. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students considering paramedicine to ask questions, explore their options and discover what a career in emergency healthcare could look like.
Congratulations to our Year 10 Commerce students and teachers, Mrs Rowe, Ms Devlin and Ms Allen, on the success of their $20 Boss Mega Market, run in partnership with Young Change Agents, where students showcased their creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial skills through their own businesses and social enterprises. Thanks to the generosity of our College community, the event raised an impressive $1,700 for Congo Aid, continuing our College’s commitment to the $20 Boss program since 2018 and supporting its important work. As Year 12 return from their Trial Exams and thoughts turn to what’s next and their post school pathways, students are encouraged to take advantage of the many resources that are just a click away. For those looking to uni, UAC offers a huge range of helpful links (see the Planning tab on the UAC home page) - including a dedicated section for Year 12 - plus early entry schemes, upcoming open days and UAC Digital. For VET pathways - TAFE has a useful Study Seeker Quiz that’s worth a look. Closer to school our Careers Canvas page includes the latest updates on post-school opportunities. Students should also be working through their individual Post School Plan documents via the Canvas page.
