Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features narratives written by some of our Year 5 students, with the word “if” in the title. I trust you enjoy them just as much as I have! 

If – by Kalana 

If you can keep your cool when everything goes wrong, See the truth in the words of the wrong,

If you believe in yourself when no one believes, and make a fortune with their words,

If you can spend without the price tag, you can work without the clock,

If you can triumph and not lose hope, and trust without teammates you will always have friends,

If life brings you down don’t go down without a fight, if you can be with your family and love them as much as you do,

If you don’t work for your future, what will you have in ten years,

If you cry with friends, but no one bats an eye,

Maybe search for new places where people let you cry,

GO ON MY FRIEND LIVE YOUR LIFE.

What If  By Veer 

If you can care about family and friends and not get overprotective, 

If you are new but not get too much attention,

If you can talk out loud and change nothing, 

If you can keep focused with distractions around,

If you can say the truth with no second thoughts,

If you can believe in yourself there’s no one stopping you,

If you can watch your lifetimes work destroyed but stay calm and try again, 

If people doubt you without evidence, you can still strive to greatness,

 If you can live your days as if your last then live your life with no second thoughts, 

If you can meet with both victory and defeat and treat them the same,

Your life is balanced just right for you will be a complete person - one with both light and dark.

If by Zavier 

If you can defend yourself without violence when everybody is shoving and pushing.

If you can dream and work towards a goal when everybody hates and doubts.

If you can spend time with family but still have time for work.

If you can make a leap of faith but still know when enough is enough.

If you believe in yourself even if everyone is against you.

If you can work with pressure but still can think clearly.

If you can push yourself when your whole body says otherwise.

If you can treat people with kindness but never get weak.

If you can lose with a smile on your face when the winner laughs and makes fun of you.

If you can be happy without sounding too cocky.

Then you are on the right path to success my friend!

If only, if only life could be that easy, we could just snap our fingers and see the future,

No changes. We could live our perfect little lives, so spoilt but it wouldn’t matter.

But our future has other plans for us, 

If only we could realise, how much pain our parents put to raise us, how feeling sorry won’t stitch up the scars and cuts, 

And we said, how we will ever be able to repay what we are. 

Imagine we could fly our way to success!
