2026 Prep Transition Program

Welcome to another fabulous edition of the Admin Corner! At Glen Waverley Primary School, we are delighted to welcome our 2026 Prep families into our school community. Our upcoming Prep Transition Program plays an important role in helping children feel ready, confident, and connected before beginning their first year of school.

 

Across five engaging sessions, children will meet their future classmates, explore the Prep learning spaces, and enjoy a range of activities in literacy, science, mathematics, digital technology, PE, Mandarin, music, and art. At the same time, parents will be invited to attend information sessions that provide valuable insights into supporting their child’s learning and wellbeing.

 

Prep Transition Dates

  • Session 1: Tue 16 Sep | 11:30am–1:00pm – Literacy/Science (Parent session: Successful School Transition)
  • Session 2: Tue 14 Oct | 11:30am–1:00pm – Digital Technology (Parent session: Literacy in the Early Years)
  • Session 3: Tue 28 Oct | 11:30am–1:00pm – Maths & Art (Parent session: Numeracy & Wellbeing) Uniform Shop open 1–2pm
  • Session 4: Tue 11 Nov | 11:30am–1:00pm – PE, Mandarin & Music (Parent session: First Weeks of School & Digital Technology) Uniform Shop open 1–2pm

  • Session 5: Tue 25 Nov | 11:30am–1:00pm – “All About Me” (Parent session: Uniforms, Books & Meet the Teacher) Uniform Shop open 1–2pm & Camp Australia Coffee Van from 11am

     

New Parent Information Evening – Tue 2 Dec | 6:30pm in the Staffroom (Main Building)

 

We are committed to making the transition to school a positive and memorable experience for every child. By participating in our Prep Transition Program, families can build connections, gain valuable insights, and ensure their children begin their learning journey feeling confident, supported, and excited about the year ahead.
