Swinburne Carpentry & Plumbing TAFE Taster

On Tuesday 19th August a small group of year 9 students travelled to Swinburne’s Croydon campus to participate in a Carpentry and plumbing TAFE Taster day. After a talk and tour, students were immersed in hands on activities in plumbing and carpentry to test their skills and learn new ones. After constructing a plumbing setup similar to a shower and basin setup, the student’s work were hooked up to a hand pump and pressurised with water to check for leaks. Our carpentry activity had students make a phone amplifier which was great fun too. I congratulate all students for their dedication to the day.
