Principal's Report

Dear Whitehorse Primary School community,

We have really appreciated having so many visitors to our school over the last two weeks as we celebrated Education Week where students enjoyed sharing their learning with family and our community which culminated in a wonderful performance from our school choir. Last week we held a number of events as part of Reconciliation week including a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony. We also had a great end of week assembly with a performance from our Grade 3/4 students.

We thank everyone for making the time to visit our school and to learn alongside our students.

Congratulations Mr Merriweather

Recently I was informed that Mr Paul Merriweather has reached 50 years of service working for the Department of Education. Mr Merriweather was acknowledged at a recent Department Ceremony for his contributions to multiple generations of children and their education. 50 years is a significant contribution to the teaching profession and we are grateful to have had Mr Merriweather as part of our community for many years!

The focus for a visit to our school to learn about our Wellbeing and Curriculum programs. We are delighted for this opportunity which supports our move towards developing a sister school relationship with a school in China to provide greater opportunities for global learning for our students.
