We’ve had a busy fortnight in Grade 1 and 2!

Our students were excited to participate in National Simultaneous Story Time on Wednesday 21st May. We read ‘The Truck Cat’ and used it as a springboard into discussions about home, and what makes us feel at home. This was a beautiful way to launch into the theme of Multiculturalism for Education Week. Thankyou to the parents who came to visit us in our classrooms and could help their students share all about their culture and what is special for their own family.

Last week was Reconciliation Week and we were very privileged to be involved in some whole school activities. The Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony were definite highlights for everyone. We are very proud of how respectful the students were during the ceremony, and impressed with their reflective thinking afterwards. The experience sparked some incredible writing. Well done to our four students who were lucky enough to share their writing at assembly.
