Term 3 Sport Wrap Up

Division Basketball and Athletics

Our Year 7, 8, and intermediate students took to the court to compete against local schools in our division basketball competition. Well done to our Year 8 boys basketballers, who are off to compete in the SMR finals in October.

Over 50 students competed at our division athletics competition day. Well done to all who competed and to those progressing to SMR athletics in October. 

Regional Finals

Throughout the term, many teams competed at the Southern Metro Regional finals.

• Senior girls' soccer
• Year 7 and 8 girls and boys netball
• Inter girls' netball
• Year 7, 8, inter boys AFL
• Junior, inter, and senior girls AFL

State Finals

We saw two Year 8 boys, Java L and Brodie T, compete in State Cross Country. Both students took on the challenge and did extremely well in their age groups:  

• Java 20th and Brodie 27th.

Well done, Java and Brodie - a fantastic achievement!

In early September, our Year 7 girls' netball team competed in the State Netball Finals. They faced fierce competition but just missed out on a place in the finals.

In the last week of term, our Year 8 boys competed in the State Netball Finals. Although it was a tough day of competition, the boys took on each challenge, having lots of fun along the way.

Thank you to all students who participated in sports this term. We would also like to thank parents and carers who cheer on our students and offer assistance and support on sports days. Special mention to our staff and VM students who coach and support students in the lead-up to and on the day!
