Expressions of Interest – Albury Eisteddfod Debating Competition
A limited number of places are still available for students interested in representing Trinity at the Albury Eisteddfod Debating Competition. Year 9-10 students will compete on Thursday 6 August and Year 7-8 students will compete on Friday 7 August.
No prior debating experience is needed - just a willingness to have a go! Students will be supported to prepare as a team during the first few weeks of Term 3 before competing in two debates on the day: one prepared debate and one impromptu debate, where teams receive an unseen topic and have one hour to prepare.
The event takes place during the school day. Students may travel to and from the venue by school bus or be dropped off and collected directly from the venue.
The Albury Eisteddfod is a fun opportunity to meet students from other schools, work together as a team, build confidence in public speaking, and develop skills in thinking critically and presenting persuasive arguments.
Parents/Students should email Kate Esler to express interest or with any questions no later than Tuesday 21 July to kate.esler@trinityac.nsw.edu.au
