Chaplaincy at Peninsula Grammar

In June, we conducted our first service of Baptism and Confirmation in the Chapel of the Resurrection for some years. Several members of our School community, as well as members of nearby Anglican parishes, were baptised and/or confirmed. We were again delighted to welcome the Right Reverend Dr Paul Barker, Bishop of the Jumbunna Episcopate, who presided at the service and gave an engaging address. It is hoped that this will now become an annual event on the School calendar.

In the final week of Term 2, a group of Senior School students attended St Paul's Cathedral for an Anglican Schools Forum. Their perspectives were sought to help inform church leaders about how the Anglican Church might most effectively engage with young people. An Anglican Schools combined service will take place at the Cathedral in late July.

In the classroom, our Year 8 students will be exploring the topic of comparative religion in Term 3, while our Year 7 students will focus on the New Testament and the person of Jesus, His life, and teachings.

The Chapel has become a busier place, with regular services now being conducted across a range of year levels.
