Marian College – School Bus 1999

In July 1997 34 Marian College students escaped serious injury in a terrible bus accident on Sayers Road, Hoppers Crossing. Five students were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but the bus driver, Nick, was praised by police for guiding the bus into a ditch by the side of the road and preventing further serious injuries. 

The Parents and Friends generously donated $15,000 towards the purchase of the replacement bus, a Scania 45 seater.
