OUTDOOR EDUCATION

YEAR 9
FINDING ADVENTURE IN OUR OWN BACKYARD
Despite a wet start, the Year 9 Outdoor Education class embraced the challenge and set off on their adventure to Kardella. Travelling via the Great Southern Rail Trail and local roads, students successfully navigated their way to the campsite on Coal Creek, demonstrating determination and teamwork from the very beginning.
Over the two-day experience, students developed and applied a range of outdoor education skills while supporting one another through changing conditions. Their resilience, positive attitudes and willingness to step outside their comfort zones were evident throughout the journey.
The camp provided an excellent opportunity for students to build independence, strengthen relationships and gain confidence in their outdoor abilities. Whether navigating unfamiliar terrain, setting up camp or working together to overcome challenges, the group consistently displayed outstanding teamwork and cooperation.
The Year 9 students are to be commended for the way they approached the experience, showing maturity, perseverance and a genuine sense of adventure. It was wonderful to see them discovering that sometimes the best adventures can be found right in our own backyard.
Well done to all students for a fantastic Outdoor Education experience!
Year 9 Outdoor Education Gives Back to the Local Environment
On Wednesday, our Year 9 Outdoor Education students partnered with Bass Coast and Korumburra Landcare to make a positive impact on the local environment. Together, they planted more than 1,200 trees along the rail trail, approximately one kilometre from Korumburra heading towards Bena.
Students worked enthusiastically throughout the day, contributing to an important revegetation project that will benefit local wildlife and help enhance the natural landscape for years to come.
As always, our students displayed outstanding teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude, supporting one another while tackling the task with energy and determination.
We are incredibly proud of the way they represented the College and contributed to their local community. Well done to everyone involved!
