Health & Physical Education

It has been a fantastic start to the year in HPE. During the first two weeks of term, students participated in our Bike Education program, delivered in partnership with Bicycle Network. Students from Prep to Grade 6 learned how to perform important ABCD bike safety checks, practise safe riding skills, and use hand signals when riding. It was wonderful to see many students riding with growing confidence, with some even getting on a bike for the very first time and overcoming their nerves.
Following Bike Ed, our PE lessons have begun focusing on fundamental movement skills. Students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 are developing their throwing and catching skills through fun games and partner activities. In Grades 3 to 6, students have started exploring cricket fundamentals, including basic batting, bowling and fielding techniques.
In Health lessons this term, students have been learning about who they are and what makes them unique. Through discussions and activities, students are identifying things they enjoy, exploring their interests, and discovering the many things they have in common with their classmates.
Students have also loved making the most of our beautiful oval while the weather is still warm and sunny, enjoying plenty of time outdoors as they build skills, confidence and teamwork.
