Over the past couple of weeks, we have been exploring Lunar New Year—learning about its origins, the traditions associated with it, and how the Year of the Horse fits into the celebrations.
Our students have been busy with a range of creative activities across the grades. Prep students worked on creating their own lion puppets, inspired by the traditional lion dance often seen during Lunar New Year celebrations. Grades 1 and 2 designed and made red packets, adding a small note to gift to their peers as a gesture of good wishes. Meanwhile, Grades 3 to 6 explored their creativity by using tangram puzzles to design and construct horses, connecting their learning to the Year of the Horse.
