Junior School Report

Wow, how quickly the end of term has arrived. Term 3 has been all go activities, excursions, assessments, sports and community involvement. 

The Victoria Police versus Reservoir High School basketball game was a massive event, with contributions from Preston Rotary, Bunnings and the Victoria Police (including the Commissioner). A massive contribution was made by Junior students Mary F and Aiyanna B who were on the planning committee and spent hours organising and planning the day. Representing the Junior School in the Basketball game were Wolfie D, Duy Z, Rhylan K, Michael L, Jax B and Aiyanna B. 

The end of term sees the completion and graduation of select year 8 students from RAISE mentoring. A fantastic program supporting our students with mentoring from members of the local community. We encourage year 7 students to consider this program in 2027.

Year 7 Report 

Our Year 7 students have been involved in a range of different interschool sports across Term 3, including teams in hockey and basketball. The hockey team featured Year 7 students: Abdullah A, Casper C, Wolfie D, Bilal Z, Ziggy S, Bradley R, Toby P, Bernie P, Harvey M, Duy L, Jeremy L. Congratulations to these students, who showed great determination and teamwork on the day against some tough opponents.

On the 2nd September, our Year 7 students were involved in interschool basketball. Well done to the boys team: Rylan K, Freddy Z, Arlo C, Levi C, Alec M, Toby P, Lawrence B, Jeron J, Bela F, Duy L, Perry O, Casper C, Wolfie D, Rudge F. Girls team: Tahlia W, Jaela M, Zoe H, Indie R, Imogen R, Alia B, Lily A, Sri M, Etu A, Lashay G. 

Finally, on Friday 28th August our Year 7 students participated in our annual Bruce Kingsbury Memorial Service, held jointly with students from Kingsbury Primary School. We had the privilege of hearing from Jill Bear, President of the 2/14th Battalion Association, about Bruce’s life, service and legacy. Year 7 students also spent time in Humanities classes learning about Bruce Kingsbury and were required to make a creative submission about his life.

Congratulations to Rory Smith, Vivika Argawal and Aidan Achmari who were selected to present their pieces at the memorial service.

A reminder to all Year 7 students that last Thursday, 10 September, was R U OK? Day.

R U OK? Day is an Australian national day of action dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness, held annually on the second Thursday of September. A number of activities were run during lunchtime for students. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a positive opportunity to connect and check in with others.
