Year 6 Leadership Retreat

Our Year 6 Leadership Retreat with 24/7 School Ministries yesterday was an inspiring and purposeful day for all involved. The students represented St Helena’s beautifully by showing excellent behaviour, respectful participation and a genuine willingness to engage in every activity. Throughout the retreat, teamwork was a central focus, with students collaborating in challenges and games that highlighted the importance of communication, cooperation and supporting one another as leaders.
A key part of the day explored the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how these gifts can guide our Year 6 students as leaders of St Helena’s and in their lives beyond the school gates. Through discussions, reflections and interactive activities, students learned how qualities such as love, faithfulness, peace and other spiritual gifts are demonstrated not only by everyday people but even by superheroes; figures who use their strengths for good. The students also took time for personal reflection, identifying the gifts they possess and considering how they can use these gifts to serve our school community with kindness, courage and purpose.
The knowledge and skills gained during the retreat will also support students as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation later this year. Their deepened understanding of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit will help them recognise how the Spirit is already at work in their lives and how they are called to use these gifts with intention and maturity as they continue their faith journey.
