Artists at Hillsmeade:

Recently the City of Casey requested students from Hillsmeade enter a picture story book illustration competition. The story is about 'Eva the Echidna' and how students in the City of Casey can protect the environment that cares for our native animal species.

We had so many wonderful submissions from students in Grade 5 and 6 and we are fortunate to have had 2 student illustrations selected.

Congratulations to Rishika in Year 5 and Ava in Year 6 for being selected to be published illustrators. We can't wait to see the whole picture story book. In the meantime here is a sneak peek at their illustrations.

Battery Blitz is back!

The City of Casey has announced the Battery Blitz program is back. Hillsmeade is taking part again. You can help us win a party by bringing in old and unused batteries from home.

Household batteries accepted: AAA, AA, C, D, 9V, 6V, andbutton cell sizes only.

Although the competition doesn't start until October we collect batteries all year so please start bringing them to school for our Marine Team to safely package and send off to be recycled.

When batteries go into our kerbside bins, they cause fires, they need to go in specialist drop-off points. Our school can be your drop off point so we can safely send them to be recycled.
