Our Learning - Weeks 8 & 9
Thank you to all the Father's and Special Other's that came to play at kinder last week, the children really enjoyed having you here.
The last fortnight has seen children in the 3 and 4 year old kindergarten groups undertaking learning in the following areas:
Pre-Reading: Listening games Learning first sounds of our name Using illustrations from picture story books as prompt for their artwork and developing their own storylines to accompany these |
Pre-Writing: Creating letter shapes through drawing and painting Building muscle strength from core muscles, to shoulder and arm muscles and to hand and finger muscles Practicing fine motor skills by using tongs, threading, picking items up by pinching our fingers |
STEM : Children have been exploring coding basics through the use of bee bots. Learning subitising through loose parts and dice games |
Inquiry : Our World, Many Stories- through stories we can explore our imagination and experience different cultures Creating stories for dramatic play while outdoors |
Social & emotional learning : Exploring different emotions through storytelling Discussions about how to be kind and a good friend Group games involving sharing and turn-taking Developing resilience through group games |
Celebration of learning
Enrolments for free 3 and 4 year old sessional kindergarten.
Enrol through Casey Council for Hillsmeade Kindergarten.
Long Day Care enrolments with kindergarten is through the ELC office.
