Year 1 Update

Our Learning - Weeks 8 & 9

We warmly welcome Miss Carter, who has joined 1C and teaching on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with with Mr Wright continuing on Thursdays and Fridays.

English	To read and write words containing 'ow' and 'ou' following the Little Learners Love Literacy program. To understand a range of text types and identify the author's purpose. To investigate the structure of simple poetry and attempt to write some simple poetry eg. Acrostic poems.
Maths	To add and subtract numbers using a range of strategies.
Inquiry	To understand how our actions can lead to positive changes for our planet. To create a personal "Change Project" idea related to sustainability.
SEL	To understand how to keep our personal space and body safe. To understand the idea of self-control. To talk about things, we can do to calm ourselves when feeling anxious.

News and Reminders:

Footy Day- Friday 19th September. Students are invited to dress in their footy team colours.
Last Day of Term 3, 2.30pm dismissal - Friday, 19th September.
First Day of Term 4 - Monday 6th October.
Family - Teacher Conversations - Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th October. Please make a booking through Compass. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and discuss areas for further growth. We look forward to connecting with you!
