Leisure, Lifestyle & Health

With three classes of Leisure, Lifestyle and Health lead by Mr Dolan, Mr Komp and Ms Chatterton, we had a great semester of activities both school based and via excursions off campus. They ranged from river walks and looking at local heritage around the Maribyrnong Rivert to Ice skating at the Icehouse in the Docklands precinct.
Those excursion’s we enjoyed as a group included:
-Ten Pin Bowling at Strike Bowling Highpoint.
-Golf both at Barrett reserve and at Riverside Golf Driving range (plus a bit of cheeky putt putt).
-Indoor Rock climbing at Climb n Play Maribyrnong (really saw the brave students in this activity!)
-Menu planning and cooking a hot lunch down at Pipemaker’s Park using the portable trangia stoves.
-Lawn Bowls at the local Rosamond Bowling club.
The hope is that students experience new activities through this subject - some active and some passive. We encourage our students to think more about what they will do leaving school to have a active, enjoyable life incorporating leisure activities that can engage their social, emotional, mental and physical health.
