Don Deeble Rising Stars

The Don Deeble Rising Star Award recognises outstanding young athletes from the western suburbs who aspire to excel in their chosen sport.  MSA enjoys a partnership with Sunshine & Western Region Sports Club who generously support athletes through financial assistance in their sporting development.  

Congratulations to the following athletes who were Don Deeble Award recipients in Term 2.

April, 2025:  Jackson Martin (Cricket)    

Jackson’s ascent through the ranks, from local club cricket to the SSV team and Premier Cricket’s Second XI at Essendon Cricket Club, is a testament to his exceptional talent, dedication, and work ethic. 

As an all-rounder, Jackson has showcased his ability to perform with both bat and ball, making him an asset to every team he represents.  His consistent performances in the Dowling Shield solidified his reputation as a rising star.

May, 2025:  Kiara Boyd (Netball & AFLW)  

As a talented bottom-age competitor in both sports, Kiara consistently demonstrates determination, athleticism, and a strong work ethic. Kiara balances sport with academic commitment as she consistently represents her state through school competitions and SSV TeamVic selections, showcasing her skill and dedication on a national stage.
