Swimming Carnival

Sunbury College Swimming Carnival 2024

Tuesday the 13th of February saw Sunbury College host an entertaining and exciting Swimming Sports Carnival at Sunbury Aquatic Centre. The year 12 students set the tone for the day, their participation and fancy dress was the best we’ve seen in years! The music kept the fun vibe going with many students performing throughout the day and displaying their talents. The students found many ways to cool off, whether it was enjoying free time in the wading pool, going back for a second icy pole or pushing their teachers in the tube races. As the temperature continued to rise our events quickly filled up, resulting in some very competitive races, none more so than the staff vs student’s relay. Ultimately it was the staff team who took top spot on the podium, despite some foul play from the principal team. To cap off the day the age group champions were celebrated and Clarke house were once again named Swimming Sports Champions. Thank you to all the students and staff for making this an amazing day!

This year’s swimming carnival for Sunbury College was one of the best yet, even featuring a shade standing on the roof! There were high levels of participation from all four houses: Batman, Clarke, Evans and Jackson, and the teachers certainly brought it in races against the students. On the day, we had individual champion winners for the most points earned, as well as the house points competition. Congratulations to Clarke for coming out on top with over 400 points; here's hoping next year is just as much, if not even more, fun than this year’s swimming carnival!
