Music and Performing Arts

The start to 2024 has been productive and exciting in both music and the performing arts. 

Instrumental music lessons have already started and it’s great to see so many students involved in the many different instruments we offer here at Sunbury College.

Learning an instrument is a great way to meet new people of all year levels. Research indicates that musical training is beneficial to the development of a child’s brain, strengthens networks that processes sound, language and communication as well as engages areas that are responsible for decision-making, focusing attention and inhibiting impulses.

There are still some spaces left in the following instruments:

• Violin
• Cello 
• Trumpet
• Trombone
• Voice
• Flute
• Clarinet
• Saxophone

We are so excited for our production of ‘High School Musical Jr. this year! Auditions have already happened and we have a very talented group of students involved this year. I can’t wait to share our rehearsal updates with you along the way. 

Keep an eye out for more information and we can’t wait to see you at our show in September 2024 with Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and Ryan because as they say, ‘We are all in this together’!
