Chaplain's Chat

Keep looking at the birds
You may remember that at the start of the year I encouraged our school community from Matthew 6:26 with Jesus words to ‘Look at the birds…they don’t sow or reap…yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?’
These words, and the birds, are a reminder of the dignity and value of each and every person in our community. This principle is the foundation of our school's core value of respect and shapes us into a place of welcoming all.
I also gave us a specific bird to focus on for the year, the laughing kookaburra. It has been wonderful receiving photos from families in the school of the birds that have captured their attention, kookaburras and many others. Here is one of my favourites, captured by a teacher on an early morning walk.
This fellow has made its home near our school. More than a coincidence, this is a reminder of how God values each person here, and so should we as we find joy in life and learning.
Remember that you are always welcome at Christ Church Anglican Echuca at 8:30am or 10:30am on Sundays, and at our various Chapels throughout the Term.
Kind regards,
Rev. Tim Bowles
Chaplain
