Celebrating Growth and Aspiration across all Learning Environments

Educational leadership is such a wonderful privilege.

The ability to support, nurture and encourage students to aspire, grow, and extend themselves towards new challenges and personal best opportunities across all learning environments is one of the most rewarding aspects of working in a school setting.

Over the course of the past month, I have had the pleasure of….

  • supporting our Year 12 students during listening lunches to navigate the challenges of the HSC and to consider career aspirations and possibilities.
  • encouraging students at the State Equestrian Championships in Boneo, Victoria, and the National Athletics Championships in Brisbane.
  • having celebratory phone calls with students who have represented our school at State Level Competitions and selection trials.
  • observing talented musicians perform in front of our school community at our annual ANZAC Day Assembly

Through each of these encounters, and many others, I very much enjoy engaging with our students and provoking growth-oriented reflections.

Celebrating growth, and continually supporting our students to believe in their future possibilities is a key determinant of academic and personal success.

I thank our staff, families, parent volunteers, and the critical friends of our students who help them believe in themselves and lift their perceptions of what their personal bests look like each and every day.

Kind regards,

Mr Scott Downward
