YEAR 11
Leading The Way

Head of Year 11
Our Year 11 students will head to Green Island on Monday, 26 October for their End of Year Pastoral Day. Thanks to funding received through the Education Experience Program, proudly funded by the Queensland Government, and the Cairns Regional Council Nature-Based Learning Grant Program, students will take part in a range of activities, including snorkelling, reef education, citizen science activities, a glass-bottom boat tour and time to explore the island.
The day will provide an opportunity to celebrate the year together, strengthen connections across the cohort and build a strong sense of community as students prepare to move into Year 12. It will also provide a unique opportunity for students to learn more about and engage with our Great Barrier Reef environment.
Parents and carers can expect to receive further information and consent requirements through InForm in the coming days.
A reminder that orders for the 2027 Senior Jersey are placed and paid for directly through the external supplier with details recently shared via InForm. Jersey orders must be completed by Friday, 17 October.
The 2027 Senior Sport Shirt is a separate order and must be ordered and paid for through the College Uniform Shop by Friday, 30 October.
The 2027 Student Leadership process is now in its final stages, with students to be notified of the outcomes during Week 10.
All students who put themselves forward for a leadership position should be proud of their efforts and the way they have represented themselves throughout this process.
Regardless of the final outcome, their willingness to step forward, challenge themselves and contribute to the College community is a reflection of the leadership qualities within our Year 11 cohort.
As we come to the end of Term 3, Year 11 students are encouraged to take the opportunity to reflect on the term and recognise the progress they have made. With just one term remaining of Year 11, Term 4 will be an important time to continue building strong habits and preparing for the transition into Year 12.
Before leaving for the holidays, all students need to completely empty their lockers and remove their locks by the end of the day on Friday. Any locks remaining after this time will be removed.
I wish all Year 11 students and families a safe and relaxing holiday break. I hope students enjoy the chance to recharge and return ready for a positive final term of Year 11.
