BDO Hockey Gala Day
On Tuesday, four teams represented the College at the BDO Hockey Gala Day. Our Junior Girls and Junior Boys teams gave their all in their respective divisions and developed many new skills throughout the day.
Congratulations to Tristan Bartholomew on an outstanding carnival. Tristan led his team from the front and was awarded Player of the Tournament for the Junior Boys Division.
We also saw excellent hockey in the Senior Divisions, with our Senior Girls finishing third overall and narrowly missing a Grand Final spot in Division 1. Our Senior Boys also performed strongly, losing 1-0 in their Preliminary Final. Congratulations to Charlie Pike, who was awarded Player of the Tournament for the Senior Boys Division.
While St Mary’s was unfortunate not to bring home a trophy, it was a fantastic day of hockey, with every student giving their best and representing the College with pride.
A highlight of the day was hearing Year 12 student Rylan Grima deliver professional and inspiring motivational speeches before each match. His words were a great source of encouragement for our teams throughout the day.
A special thank you to Mrs Draheim for organising the day, as well as our four coaches, Mr Pacey, Mr Morzone, Mrs Tillett and Ms Noonan, who volunteered their time to support our teams and keep everything running smoothly throughout the day.
Thank you also to our players, parents, referees and Cairns Hockey for helping make the day possible.

PENINSULA Representatives
As Term 3 comes to a close, we are finalising our records of student achievements from Terms 1-3. As part of this process, we are confirming students who represented Peninsula at a Queensland State Title in 2026.
Mrs Tillett sent an email this week asking students to provide a list of the teams they represented Peninsula in. Please ensure you respond to this email before the end of term.
