YEAR 8
Building Strong Connections

Head of Year 8
Thank you to the Year 8 students for their active participation and excellent behaviour at the Year 8 Formation Day on Friday. Students learnt about Mary’s charism and how we can emulate her courage, selflessness and compassion in our everyday lives. This is an important element in the formation of our young people at St Mary’s.
Students also had the opportunity to strengthen relationships with each other, their Pastoral Mentors and the wider St Mary’s community.
This term, the Year 8 students have participated in various House Cup challenges each week, earning valuable points for their House in the hope of securing the overall House Cup at the end of the term.
Students gained points for thorough diary use, having locks on lockers, earning merits and having the correct laptop case. I am proud of the way our Year 8 students have risen to these challenges and demonstrated the high standards we uphold at St Mary’s.
The winning House will be announced next Friday at Community Pastoral Group.
Lockers: A reminder that students need to ensure their lockers are empty before leaving for the holidays. Locks will be cut off lockers at 3:15 pm next Friday. This supports the security and safety of our school over the break.
I wish the Year 8 students a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday and look forward to hearing their holiday recaps when we return. We are excited to welcome the Year 8 students back for Term 4 on Tuesday 6 October.
