This week, our College community came together in a vibrant sea of yellow to acknowledge R U OK? Day and to promote the importance of meaningful conversations, connection, and caring for one another.

As a Catholic community, we are called to be the face of Christ for others by showing compassion, kindness, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of those around us. R U OK? Day reminds us that sometimes the simplest question, "Are you OK?", can make a significant difference in someone's life.

To mark the occasion, the College hosted a community breakfast, bringing students, staff, and families together to celebrate the importance of connection and belonging. Throughout the week, students also participated in a variety of activities designed to foster friendship, inclusion, and positive conversations.

During Pastoral Group, students shared a 'Chit Chat over a Kit Kat', providing a relaxed opportunity to check in with one another and enjoy meaningful conversations. Lunchtimes were filled with colour and creativity as students made friendship bracelets, while others joined in energetic sessions of Just Dance, creating moments of joy, laughter, and community spirit.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the College was beautifully decorated in yellow, and students and staff embraced the theme by dressing in bright yellow clothing and accessories to raise awareness of mental health and the importance of reaching out for support.

These activities served as an important reminder that building strong relationships and taking the time to listen can have a profound impact on those around us. Whether through a shared breakfast, a simple conversation, a friendship bracelet, or a dance with friends, every act of connection helps strengthen our community.

We thank everyone who participated and contributed to making R U OK? Day such a meaningful occasion. Let us continue to live out the message of this important initiative every day by noticing when someone may be struggling, reaching out with kindness, and reminding one another that no one has to face challenges alone.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:2)
